The Cat Teacher
Everything I need to know I learned from my cat
It is always healthier to be skinny than fat
Be well groomed at all times
In life, it is better to walk a straight line
Sit with good posture, elegance and poise
Maintain a big presence with little noise
Speak up if you need to be fed
Sleep is important, so find a comfortable bed
Appreciate the little things
Especially a mouse of a bird that sings
Be aloof and proud, as if you don’t care
Have a mind of your own, if you dare
It is always better to lead than follow
Be mindful of what you eat and careful when you swallow
Be choosy with your company and friends
Pick those that are willing to stay with you until the end
Have a sparkle in your eyes
Oh! My cat, she is so wise!!!!
Reading
Reading is mind travel
Books hold pages with stories that unravel
Fiction, Non-Fiction, Mysteries and more
Open a book and start to explore
Fiction uses imagination
Princesses, Unicorns and Wizards of fascination
Non-fictions are stories that are true
Biographies may someday be written about you
Mysteries reveal secrets as they are told
Clues along the way as these stories unfold
Great stories are always a treasure
Traveling with your mind, always a pleasure!
Numbers Fly
Numbers, math
With a path
Follow along
And you can’t go wrong
Math is a numbers game
The answer is always the same
Basic arithmetic, there is always a trick
Numbers tell a story of sorts
Unlike words, they don’t spin or distort
Addition is just some numbers more
A magic sum or all together, add to score
Subtraction is just a few less
Minus or Reduce, just don’t guess
Quick Addition or Multiple
It is as if numbers fly
Allowing numbers to hide
Splitting by 2, 3, 4 one divides
Be sure you math path shows
How your numbers flow
Write the equation out
Return to your math if in doubt
Whether you add, subtract, multiply, or add, numbers don’t change
In math, numbers simply rearrange!
An ostrich
A flightless bird
Living within a small herd
His feathers shaggy and loose
Not combed and styled as a goose
A brain as small as a pea
Big eyes with which to see
A beak so wide
Having no teeth to his
He stands tall with legs so strong
Running fast with a stride so long
Africa, his native desert land
An ostrich buries his head in the sand
When approached with danger
Such as a lion, a perilous stranger
A bird with a permanent smile
You’ll gain one too, if you look in his eyes for a while!
An atom
An Atom is small
Its significance is tall
It makes up everything that matters
As a centerpiece on every platter
The nucleus is its core
Let us dissect and explore
Protons carry a positive vibe
Neutrons are neutral with nothing to hide
Electrons are negative as they surround
In orbit, they float around
Atoms that combine
Form a molecule as defined
Molecules together a chemical bond, carbon dioxide, air
Now, there is an element we all share
Found in the periodic table with many more
The basis of chemistry, a scientific field fun to explore…..
